Although no one expects you to be a specialist right out of undergrad, make an effort to develop some level of expertise in one or two specific regions of the world, as well as a relevant language. This will help attract potential employers to your resume when they are scrolling through dozens of applicants. In addition, try to incorporate other areas of interest into your studies. Think about the kinds of issues that you might want to work on from an international perspective (i.e. business, urban planning, agriculture, political science, journalism) and take classes in those subjects.
