Courses Abroad (GLBL 298)
GLBL 298 Courses Abroad (3 or 6 Credit Hours)
LAS Global Studies also offers a variety of shorter experiences abroad during the winter break and summer semester through our GLBL 298 courses. These courses are led by affiliated faculty from many departments on campus, and are focused on their geographic and substantive areas of expertise. GLBL 298 courses have an on-campus portion during the second eight weeks of the preceding semester, during which students will be familiarized with the culture and traditions of their destination as well as immersed in the substantive content knowledge of the course. Students will then spend approximately three to six weeks abroad studying the course topic in the field with the faculty member and completing a group research project. Each spring, student participants will have the opportunity to present the results of their research abroad as part of the LAS Global Studies Annual Reception.
